roles: The queen of the gods and goddess of marriage, women, childbirth, heirs, kings and empires.

bio: Jealous. Vengeful. Vindictive. Regal. Queenly. Beautiful. Godly. Hera once claimed the title of Queen of the Gods, goddess of childbirth, heirs, kings, women and marriage. She was once the mistress of her own cult, but those who worshipped so dutifully at her alter have died out, leaving her to wallow in her past and adjust to the future. Poorly. As empires became inherited instead of sought, marriage defiled by infidelity, and children borne whilst unwanted, Hera soured, becoming more the bitter, bossy, demanding goddess than she ever was before. She despises being the thing of whispered myths and fables, and longs to one day to truly remind mortals what it is to insult a god. She bides her time trying to cultivate lotus flowers, but they die if she ever forgets about them.

bio: The personification of vegetation, the daughter of the harvest-goddess Demeter, Pesephone was once the brightest of flowers and the sweetest of fruits, until the earth split open and Hades sprang forth to drag her to the underworld. There she ate six pomegranate seeds, which served to tether her to the underworld for six months out of the year - even after she was rescued. Like every flower and fruit in the underworld, rot festered until she was something darkly obsequious whilst underground and subservient to nature whilst above.
