The energy for acts of revenge have long passed him by, leaving him dour and less sociable than the rest of his pantheon. He maintains a neutral relationship with most everyone, content to work and create, inspiring mortals to do the same in turn-- his only stress comes from being drawn into the scuffles of others, and the constant infidelity of Aphrodite. The modern times have not passed him by, however. Hephaestus continues to learn and craft all manner of newers devices of war and technology, catapulting the rivalries of the gods into the 21st century. Time may pass and many things falter and drift away: not so with a good, hard anvil.
